About Us

At Divorce Partners we specialise in creating successful and efficient financial settlements - quickly and inexpensively.

Our panel include highly experienced and well-regarded divorce professionals. Between us, we’ve handled thousands of divorce settlements.

With that kind of accumulated experience, we know what works – and we pass this knowledge to you as you start to formulate your views about what’s the best outcome for your family.

The Hon. Peter I. Rose, AM, QC
Mediator & Arbitrator

​The Hon. Peter I. Rose, AM, QC has a wealth of experience in Family Law Alternate Dispute Resolution. His knowledge and experience are based on a rare combination of being a recently retired Family Court Judge and previously a leading Queen’s Counsel. He is currently a Mediator and Conciliator, and Adjunct Professor, University of Sydney Law School.
 
Peter Rose became a Queen's Counsel in 1988, and spent over 12 years as a Judge of the Family Court of Australia. He was awarded the Order of Australia in 2014 “for significant service to the legal profession, particularly in the field of family law.”

Bernie Bolger
Mediator

Bernie has a Masters Degree in Counselling and Applied Psychotherapy, a Diploma in Financial Planning and a Graduate Diploma in Family Dispute Resolution.  She is a registered Family Dispute Practitioner (FDRP) and a nationally accredited Mediator (NMAS).  She is also trained in collaborative practice and is Vice President of the Board of NSW Collaborative Professionals.

Bernie enjoyed a successful career as the owner of a chain of retail businesses in Sydney before selling her interests to concentrate on her real passion for helping people improve their communication.  

She sees good communication as the key to cutting through all sorts of difficult relationship issues, whether work related, relationship related or post separation / divorce related. ​Bernie is frequently asked to speak on radio, television and at major conferences on family well-being, relationships and money.

Lisa Cappe
Mediator

Lisa is a Family Dispute Resolution practitioner focused on parenting matters. She has worked extensively both in private practice, and at the Sydney City Family Relationship Centre. 

​Lisa holds degrees in law and psychology. She practiced both in big-city law firms and in community legal centres. She is also a coach and facilitator at the College of Law. She is a registered Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP) and Nationally Accredited Mediator (NMAS). 
 
Lisa has an open and engaging communication style, and empathetic approach in understanding her client’s concerns. Her focus is on assisting clients in insightful and constructive ways to reach agreements in relation to parenting matters.

David Eagle
Mediator

David’s career has been primarily in digital technology, including time with IBM, Telstra and Microsoft. David has a degree in Business and Marketing and extensive experience in legal publishing and online legal information services. 
 
David co-founded Divorce Partners after witnessing the devastating impact of divorce on close friends and relatives. He concluded that divorce settlement could be more streamlined, more affordable and far less bitter if education, process and technology were integrated with the services of outstanding mediators and family lawyers.

Our Multi-Disciplinary Approach

We provide a range of services to help couples get their settlements sorted out efficiently and inexpensively. ​We pull together the right team for each couple. Teams consist of a combination of these skills:

Our Case Managers are masters of organisation. They keep the process moving efficiently and coordinate other team members as required. And although they are not there to solve every personal issue you might have, they are able to provide some emotional support when it’s needed.
Our Negotiators and Mediators are expert at finding a set of arrangements that you both can live with, and that will optimize the financial future for you and any children of your relationship.
​Our Documentation Lawyers are selected from an external panel of independent law firms. They're briefed and managed by us on your behalf to run a legal check over the settlement arrangements you reach and to prepare the legal documentation you need, including documents for lodgement with the courts if needed.
​Our Panel of Independent Advisers can provide you a range of other support services that may be helpful during your separation experience. They include:
  • financial advisers
  • counsellors
  • mortgage brokers
  • property valuers
  • conveyancers

While not directly part of your settlement process, you will most likely need one or more of these types of professional advisers as you adjust to your separation and settlement. We can put you in touch with a professional advisers near you.
