How to Introduce Your Clients To Divorce Partners
As a professional adviser, you no doubt want to see your clients preserve as much of their wealth as possible, instead of burning it on legal services - which, frankly, are usually unlikely to deliver a better net financial outcome for them. And your clients’ best interests include rapid resolution of their financial settlements so the matter does not string out for years.
These goals hold true regardless of what professional service you provide to them - no matter whether you are a financial adviser or a counsellor or any of the other adviser groups who work with us.
Our 5 core services are the most practical, effective and inexpensive ways we can help our clients move forward.
Below you will find tools to help you to effectively present Divorce Partners to your clients as the most sensible option for handling their financial settlement. They are:

Below you will find tools to help you to effectively present Divorce Partners to your clients as the most sensible option for handling their financial settlement. They are:
- A bullet-point description of the Core Reasons why Divorce Partners is a better option.
- Downloadable brochures you can email to a client.
- Answers to Frequently Asked Questions.
- Client Referral Form.
- Instructions about Referral Fees (if you choose to receive them).
1.1 The Core Reasons why Divorce Partners is a better option
- The vast majority of separating people do not need lawyers to achieve a financial settlement. Going to lawyers means entry into an adversarial system which is extremely expensive and slow. There is no obligation to do that.
- The facts show that on average clients preserve far more of their wealth when they use neutral advisers than if they fall into the trap of the legal system.
- In making a big decision, clients should set some criteria. The most logical criteria are:
1. Cost
2. Time
3. Success and
4. Stress
On these criteria, neutral advisors outperform the legal system (lawyers and court) by a very wide margin.
Here's how they compare:
- At Divorce Partners we offer a range of 5 distinct services. Each one is suitable for clients with a different need.
- You can read about the 5 services on the front page of our website. Each service also has its own page with more detail.
- All 5 of our services are affordable, swift and the lowest stress options available.

1.3 Frequently Asked Questions
We don't expect you to be an expert about divorce settlements or about Divorce Partners.
But here are some questions that may occur to you, or that your clients might ask.

But here are some questions that may occur to you, or that your clients might ask.
do i HAVE TO USE A LAWYER FOR MY SETTLEMENT?
No, you do not. The majority of separating people don't. You almost certainly don't need a lawyer to negotiate your settlement. Government surveys prove that people who use lawyers on average end up with less in their settlements than people who don't. You may need a lawyer for some parts of the documentation that formalises your agreement.
what am i entitled to in my settlement?
In Australia there are no explicit entitlements. This can be very frustrating. But what we can do is help find a "deal" that is "normal" for your particular situation. If you try to stray far away from normal, you're unlikely to get your deal completed.
why would I consider using divorce partners?
Because neutral advisory services like Divorce Partners are faster, more effective and considerably cheaper than using lawyers. And because Divorce Partners has a range of 5 distinct services, so there's most likely one that's totally relevant for your current situation.
can i be sure that divorce partners will provide good service to my clients?
We've been in business for 5 years and have helped over 2,000 clients with their settlements. You can see some of our team on the About Us page. We're all committed to providing affordable solutions.
No-one can guarantee that clients will act sensibly and reach agreement, but neutral advisory services like Divorce Partners almost always outperform the legal system on every important measure: speed, cost, stress and success rate.
Clients don't, however, cut off the option of using the legal system if they can't reach agreement through our services. But it just makes way more sense for them to try our low cost, low risk, low stress and rapid services first.

1.4 Client Referral Form: Introduce a Client
You can use this form to send us details of a client you'd like us to help.
You don't have to use the form. You can email us or call us about the clients you want to introduce. Just use whatever is convenient for you.

1.5 Referral Fees
We offer Referral Fees to Panel members who introduce clients to us.
Some of our Panel members choose not to receive Referral Fees. That's fine. If you change your mind, let us know.
If you do have agreed a Referral Fee arrangement with us, you need to help us track your referred clients. You can do that by using the form above, or emailing us about new introductions. If your clients don't want a direct introduction now, ask them to mention your firm when they do make contact with us at Divorce Partners.

PART 2:
How to Receive New Client Introductions from Divorce Partners
We see financial settlement as just one component of a couple's separation experience. There are many other elements where professional advisers - like you - can make a real difference to their lives. We help our clients by encouraging them to seek support from you, as relevant to their situations.
2.1 Your Profile
If you are a member of our Panel of Independent Advisors, we will encourage our clients to use your services.
To make this effective, you need to provide us with the following:
The more concretely we can describe you and your firm, the more likely that our clients will become your clients.
So please email the above items to us at [email protected]
2.2 Making the Introductions
Generally we will email you with the client details, with the clients' permission, of course. From that point on, you strike your own relationship with the clients.
2.3 Referral Fees
If you do have a Referral Fee arrangement with us, we will reconcile this with you on a monthly or quarterly basis.
2.4 Expectations
Because we operate nationwide, and because separations and divorces often progress in fits and starts, it is simply not possible to predict where the next clients will come from. Some of them may need extensive support from our Partners, other none at all.
So we cannot promise whether we'll have one lead a year for you or one a month. We just do our best to encourage clients to harness professional advisers for the many issues they deal with as they pass through this watershed time in their lives.
2.5 Support
We provide telephone and email support to our Panel members. We generally respond within 24 hours to emails. If you have views about how we can be more effective in the way we work together, let us know.
If you are a member of our Panel of Independent Advisors, we will encourage our clients to use your services.
To make this effective, you need to provide us with the following:
- Your firm's name. If that's just you as an individual operator or sole trader, that's fine.
- The key contacts at your firm. That could be just you, or you may have other colleagues you want us to know about. Just tell us who you want us to direct our clients to. We have your name and contact details already, but if you are nominating additional people in your firm, obviously we need their contact details, too.
- Tell us which geographic areas you service. You can name them by suburb, be general area, by postcode or by state. We generally try to direct clients to the closest professional advisers from the relevant Panel.
- A 100 to 200 word description of your firm and services.
- Optionally, a 1-2 page PDF brochure about you and your firm.
The more concretely we can describe you and your firm, the more likely that our clients will become your clients.
So please email the above items to us at [email protected]
