MediatorThe Hon. Peter I. Rose, AM, QC has a wealth of experience in Family Law Alternate Dispute Resolution. His knowledge and experience are based on a rare combination of being a recently retired Family Court Judge and previously a leading Queen’s Counsel. He is currently a Mediator and Conciliator, and Adjunct Professor, University of Sydney Law School.
Peter Rose became a Queen's Counsel in 1988, and spent over 12 years as a Judge of the Family Court of Australia. He was awarded the Order of Australia in 2014 “for significant service to the legal profession, particularly in the field of family law.” |
Bernie Bolger
MediatorBernie has a Masters Degree in Counselling and Applied Psychotherapy, a Diploma in Financial Planning and a Graduate Diploma in Family Dispute Resolution. She is a registered Family Dispute Practitioner (FDRP) and a nationally accredited Mediator (NMAS). She is also trained in collaborative practice and is Vice President of the Board of NSW Collaborative Professionals.
Bernie enjoyed a successful career as the owner of a chain of retail businesses in Sydney before selling her interests to concentrate on her real passion for helping people improve their communication. She sees good communication as the key to cutting through all sorts of difficult relationship issues, whether work related, relationship related or post separation / divorce related. Bernie is frequently asked to speak on radio, television and at major conferences on family wellbeing, relationships and money. |
Lisa Cappe
MediatorLisa is a Family Dispute Resolution practitioner focused on parenting matters. She has worked extensively both in private practice, and at the Sydney City Family Relationship Centre.
Lisa holds degrees in law and psychology. She practiced both in big-city law firms and in community legal centres. She is also a coach and facilitator at the College of Law. She is a registered Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP) and Nationally Accredited Mediator (NMAS). Lisa has an open and engaging communication style, and empathetic approach in understanding her client’s concerns. Her focus is on assisting clients in insightful and constructive ways to reach agreements in relation to parenting matters. |
Steven Stefanic
Lawyer and MediatorSteven is a principal of Stanford Legal, a Sydney-based general law practice.
Steven holds a Masters in Law and a Bachelor of Economics. Steven is a solicitor of the NSW Supreme Court and is also trained in collaborative practice. Steven’s skills are broad including complex financial matters, accounting, taxation, law and negotiation and dispute resolution. During his career, Steven has worked with high net worth individuals and leading financial institutions (Deutsche Bank, Macquarie Bank, ING Bank, Commonwealth Bank of Australia) and leading law firm Clayton Utz at the start of his career. Rick Greene
MediatorRick has over 25 years’ experience as a lawyer, arbitrator and mediator. He worked as mediator, supervisor and senior manager at Relationships Australia from 2006 to 2014.
Rick is now a full-time mediator, registered Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, and conflict coach. He is the past-president and current board member of Collaborative Professionals NSW, the collaborative law peak body in NSW. Rick holds a BA and MA in Psychology, and is a Doctor of Jurisprudence (Law). His mediation training includes a full-year program in Facilitative Mediation and Negotiation from Harvard Law School’s Program on Negotiation as well as a certificate program in Transformative Mediation. Rick’s approach to mediation draws on his skills in both transformative and facilitative mediation styles. |
Valerie Sinclair
MediatorValerie has been a full time mediation practitioner for over 23 years and has conducted over 3,000 mediations.
She holds a Degree in Psychology and since 1992 has had extensive experience in providing family dispute resolution. She is also an experienced provider and developer of child inclusive processes and collaborative processes. She is a Registered Family Dispute Resolution and Accredited Mediator under the National Mediation Accreditation Standards (NMAS) and an Advanced Practice Member of the Resolution Institute (LEADR). Val is a qualified and experienced trainer, coach, assessor and supervisor of mediation skills and dispute resolution processes. She has written, developed and presented Mediation and Dispute Resolution Training for numerous workplaces, organizations, mediation providers and government departments. Val is the current chair of the Resolution Institute NSW Chapter Committee and a Director of the Mediator Standards Board (MSB). |
Matthew Shepherd
Mediator and Family LawyerMatthew Shepherd became a solicitor in 1990 and a Family Law Specialist in 1996. He holds numerous qualifications in family law, mediation, alternative dispute resolution and collaborative law.
Amongst his many leadership roles in various professional groups, he is Co-Chair of the NSW Law Society’s Specialist Dispute Resolution Advisory Committee, and he lectures in this subject at University of Technology Sydney. Matthew is an accredited Mediator under the National Mediator Accreditation System, and a Registered Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner. He mediates on both parenting and financial matters for divorcing couples. |
Joanne Vigors
Case ManagerJoanne Vigors is a qualified Counsellor who specialises in Family Therapy and Grief and Loss. She is trained in suicide intervention and prevention. She has worked with Lifeline and with the State Emergency Service, and has worked with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder clients.

John is now an Accredited Financial Services Licence holder and authorized to advise on superannuation, retirement planning, insurance, investment advice, budgeting and savings plans and estate planning. |

Valerie Norton

Prior to studying psychology, Valerie had a career in publishing, mediated international business arrangements for the British Chamber of Commerce and managed an import-export company. Having worked extensively with expat separations, where one or both parents are living overseas, equips Valerie to take cultural considerations into account. Her understanding of the complex psychological issues associated with separation gives Valerie an insight into the personalities and dynamics in the mediation room to deliver timely, balanced and thoughtful agreements. |
Leanne Schubert
Case ManagerWith a Diploma in Counselling from the Australian Institute of Professional Counsellors, Leanne practices as a counsellor with ThoughtMatters Counselling as well as working a crisis counsellor for Lifeline.
Leanne had over fifteen years in corporate marketing in senior roles at Microsoft, where she gained extensive experience in people and organisational management. Leanne began her work in mind health with The Raise Foundation where she mentored young disadvantaged people and adolescent mothers, helping young people who are experiencing difficulties in their lives to overcome their challenges. She enjoys working with individuals and couples to help them gain greater insight and understanding of their thinking, and in doing so, to make sense of events and struggles in their life. |
David Eagle
FounderDavid’s career has been primarily in digital technology, including time with IBM, Telstra and Microsoft. David has a degree in Business and Marketing and extensive experience in legal publishing and online legal information services.
David established Divorce Partners after witnessing the devastating impact of divorce on close friends and relatives. He concluded that divorce settlement could be more streamlined, more affordable and far less bitter if education, process and technology were integrated with the services of outstanding mediators and family lawyers. |
